An accomplished trial lawyer with extensive legal experience, he focuses his practice on complex personal injury litigation involving serious and catastrophic bodily injury. Todd has earned an AV Preeminent® Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest peer-review rating offered by the prestigious organization for legal acumen and ethics. Additionally, Todd was also recently honored with Florida Trend Magazine’s 2020 Legal Elite award. This is a prestigious honor, given each year to select attorneys who demonstrate a high level of skill and professionalism, as well as a commitment to ethical practices and strong client advocacy. Winners of the annual Legal Elite award are nominated by their peers and are selected via a voting process after first meeting high standards of excellence in the legal profession.

In his practice, Todd is committed to fighting tirelessly on behalf of victims of negligence. He is a trusted legal guide and zealous advocate, unafraid of taking on large insurance companies and high-powered defense teams in negotiations and at trial. In every case, Todd’s goal is to help his clients recover the full and fair recovery they need and deserve.

The second oldest of nine children, Todd was born and raised in Florida. He worked his way through college at the University of Central Florida, unloading semi-trucks and sorting packages at UPS, where he worked for four years. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with an emphasis on pre-law. While attending the University of Central Florida, Todd served as president of the Political Science Pre-Law Union and was a justice on the Judicial Counsel of the prestigious Honor Court.

Todd went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law. In law school, Todd was a member of Moot Court, the editor-in-chief of the Nova Law Reporter, and served as Chief Prosecutor for the Honor Court. During his final semester of law school, Todd served as a certified legal intern with the Office of State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit. Upon graduating from law school, Todd was immediately offered the position of Assistant State Attorney. He passed the Florida Bar examination on his first attempt and was officially admitted to the Florida Bar in October of 1993.

While serving Central Florida as an Assistant State Attorney, Todd gained invaluable trial experience. He prosecuted cases involving DUI, reckless driving, and other traffic-related offenses. Today, he draws on this past experience when representing clients in complex injury cases and negligence claims.

After serving the Office of the State Attorney, Todd accepted a position with an established insurance defense firm, where he focused on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He represented major rental car companies, such as Avis, Dollar, and Budget, in addition to representing several large insurance companies and corporations. It was during this time that Todd was presented with the opportunity to work directly for the largest auto insurance company in the country, State Farm.

During his years with State Farm, Todd received valuable training from the highly regarded National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Two years later, Todd received advanced training from the Institute. In addition, he received comprehensive insurance policy coverage training at State Farm’s home office in Bloomington, Illinois.

Todd’s years of experience as a former insurance defense attorney, combined with his traffic-related criminal prosecution experience, provides him with unique knowledge of how traffic crashes are investigated and how insurance companies defend injury claims. Now, he uses this knowledge and experience as he represents clients who have sustained injuries and damages from car, truck, motorcycle, and tractor-trailer accidents, in addition to many other types of personal injury cases.
