Motorcyclist Killed in Cape Coral Accident

Cape Coral’s third motorcycle accident has cost a man his life. 59 year-old motorcycle rider Donald Richard Erwin was killed motor vehicle collision in Lee County.

The accident occurred on eastbound Pine Island Road when Erwin was approaching Chiquita Boulevard. Virginia Murphy,62, was driving her car and pulled into the biker’s path, causing Erwin to be ejected.

Erwin was transported by emergency medial helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital where he died for traumatic injuries. The Cape Coral Police Department is still investigating the accident.

This accident brings the traffic fatality toll to 7 this year in Cape Coral.
