Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on US 301

A motorcyclist was killed when hit by a car on U.S. 301.Edmond P. Cooper Jr., 63, was on his motorcycle traveling north on U.S. 301when he attempted to make a left turn onto State Road 20 and a southbound carstruck his vehicle.
Cooper was not wearing a helmet when he was knocked off hismotorcycle. The car that struck him ran into a concrete bridge pylon.
Cooper was transported to Shands Hospital in Gainsvillewhere he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car was not injured, apassenger was taken to North Florida Regional Medical Center with minorinjuries.
