Girl Awarded Over $12 Million After Accident

A Cape Coral teenage girl was awarded $12.2 million dollars as a result of an accident that occurred in 2003. The accident resulted in the teenager to be paralyzed from the waist down.
The accident occurred outside of Orlando in 2003. The girl was 15 years-old when a truck rear-ended the vehicle her grandfather was driving. The girl was immediately paralyzed and said she was not able to feel her legs at the scene of the accident. The teenagers grandmother, who was also in the car, was awarded over a million dollars as a result of injuries she suffered from the accident.
Although the amount rewarded is huge, the money may not be paid out right away. The case is likely to be appealed which could result in a delay of the payments.
